Pinching Pennies at the Jersey Shore

This spring we vacationed at the Jersey Shore. The next best thing to going to the shore, or perhaps anywhere for a vacation, in the Spring is to go in September...something that most boomers find easier to do if they have finished raising their children and are not longer constrained by school schedules.

In the Spring, it was early enough in the season that our motel was $30 less per night than it will be next week, and it goes even higher later in the summer. We didn't plan where we would stay ahead of time, as we weren't even sure where we were going to stop. But when we decided, we checked each motel within the area, and picked the lowest priced. Not only was the price low, but the room was quite nice!!
